17th Annual Big Pine and Lower Keys Dolphin Tournament
During the weekend of June 11th, 12th & 13th 2010,
the Big Pine and Lower Keys Dolphin Tournament hosted 196
anglers, fishing aboard 73 boats. 49% of the anglers traveled
from outside Monroe County. Captain’s meeting; weigh-ins
and the awards banquet took place at Boondocks’ Grille,
Draft House & Miniature Golf. Sponsorships from Cudjoe
Sales Fishermen’s Warehouse,
R & R Diesel, Royal Plus, Duncan Auto Sales, TIB Bank
of the Keys, Key West Key Lime Pie Company, AT & T the
Real Yellow Pages, floridakeys.com, Beata & Captain Jim
Sharpe Jr., Realtors Coldwell Banker Schmitt,
Real Estate, Jigs Bait & Tackle, Guns and Ammo and the
News Barometer
contributed some of the many prizes, raffle, auction items
and giveaways presented during the tournament. This year
the tournament featured over $42,000 in cash and prizes and
a guaranteed $10,000 cash for First Place.
Weigh masters,
Captain Dave Wiley, Noel Kartman, Tim Saunders and Dan Iarrobino
weighed in 25 Dolphin, 8 Tuna and 6 Wahoo, many of the dolphin
in the 20 to 30 lb range.
